Summary of the Book:

Vampire hunter Anita Blake has managed to overcome everything she faces. But this time there’s a monster that even she doesn’t know how to fight…

A remote Florida island is the perfect wedding destination for the upcoming nuptials of Anita’s fellow U.S. Marshal and best friend Edward. For Anita, the vacation is a welcome break, as it’s the first trip she gets to take with wereleopards Micah and Nathaniel. But it’s not all fun and games and bachelor parties…

In this tropical paradise Micah discovers a horrific new form of lycanthropy, one that has afflicted a single family for generations. Believed to be the result of an ancient Greek curse, it turns human bodies into a mass of snakes.

When long-simmering resentment leads to a big blowout within the wedding party, the last thing Anita needs is more drama. But it finds her anyway when women start disappearing from the hotel, and worse–her own friends and lovers are considered the prime suspects. There’s a strange power afoot that Anita has never confronted before, a force that’s rendering those around her helpless in its thrall. Unable to face it on her own, Anita is willing to accept help from even the deadliest places. Help that she will most certainly regret–if she survives at all, that is…

My Personal Review: I received a copy of this book for a fair and honest review. I am a huge fan of this series and I have been for a very long time. I had been wondering for a long time what this was going to be like. Ever since Edward/Ted asked Donna to marry him. I was wishing for a lot more action like in the earlier books in the series and less relationship drama. Edward is by far my favorite character. I know that is weird a paranormal/sci-fi book and I pick the human. This has been pointed out to me a few times. But all of us who have been fan know that no matter where Anita goes there is going to be some kind of trouble. There are still some questions in the series I would like answered, but maybe it is time for me to go back and re-read the books and see if there is something I missed and see if I can answer my own questions. I think it is a good read and will continue to be a fan.

Summary of the Book:

Back from a refreshing trip to Europe, free-spirited Alexa returns to college to pursue a dream career. While reluctant to blend academic demands with emotional attachments at first, she befriends Zeke, who fascinates her with his wits and poise. Disciplined and conscientious, her world is shaken to the core when an abrupt change in his behaviour unfolds a chameleonic Zeke and spirals her mind into a haze of turbulence.

As she reconstructs her sanity, along comes Vinson, who charms her into the perfect romance. But when he suddenly disappears, she begins to search for answers, unaware that someone’s hidden agenda is manipulating her obsession with finding the truth to the verge of madness.

Spellbound is a tale of the young and troubled at heart, toxic relationships and bittersweet memoirs.

My Personal Review: I received a copy of this book for a fair and honest review. I have to say this book was a little confusing for me. I mean liked Zee, but then he just went POOF. Then did not re-appear later in the book. Then there was Ethan. I am not sure about him. He came off a bit too needy and demanding. I found that he was just too much to take. I wanted and thought that Alexa and Zee should have been together. I was not sure about the second part that was in the book. It was not like the first part. If you want to try it go get your own copy.

Summary of the Book:

There’s a fine line between love and hate. And these two can’t decide which side they’re really on. . . .

Poetry professor Naomi Price is loved by her students, happily works around the clock, and has credentials no one could deny. Except, it seems, for her arch-nemesis at Hainamor University. The man never has anything polite to say, and now the two of them are competing for a prestigious honor that just so happens to come with a cash award. With every move Naomi makes to impress her colleagues, her rival is right there beside her, elbow to elbow, making it impossible to ignore how devastatingly hot he is—even if he is a total bastard.

Sebastian Blake knows what Naomi thinks of him, and he’s trying hard not to care. Maybe he’s been grouchy with her in the past, but she isn’t making his life any easier with her crusade to win over the Personnel Committee and earn an honor that is rightfully his. Naomi just doesn’t quit, and though he’d never admit it, there’s something sexy about her. Something that has him tied up in knots. Something that makes him want to move beyond his painful past and take a chance—at least for as long as it takes to kiss her silly and see what happens next.

Warning: Intense bickering leads to intense sexual chemistry!

My Personal Review: I received a copy of this book for a fair and honest review. There were times that I would just laugh at these two. Naomi and Sebastian do there best to make it seem like it is just a rivalry that is making them compete like this, but the more and more time and energy the use to impress the committee. The more and more they see the other in a whole new light. Each thinking they deserve the award more than the other. It is not long before the darker emotions turn to something more delightful for them both. It was a good read, but I wish it was a little longer. I think there could have been more to this story.

Summary of the Book:

Henry Jackson (Jax) Butler is Hollywood’s hottest bad boy. Ever since the release of STEEL KNIGHT, his first movie in the world-famous Defender superhero film franchise, he’s been able to land any girl he wants, even his co-star’s sexy model girlfriend. But this dream job comes with downsides—like feeling completely typecast and unable to move on artistically. That and the paparazzi. The evil, privacy-invading scum who tail his every step, smearing his name and reputation just for having some innocent fun. And one pap in particular has become his worst enemy…

Vanessa Reyes would give anything to be a real photographer, shooting for investigative journalism pieces that could make a difference in the world. But with her sister’s medical bills to pay, she’s stuck tailing Hollywood’s latest bad boy Jax Butler through New York, cashing in on every one of his plentiful hookups. She might not love her job, but she feels no remorse about exposing Jax for the heartless heartbreaker he is. Why shouldn’t she cash in on his dirty dealing?

But when Jax is ordered to clean up his public image, he can think of no better media contact to approach for help than his rival. Keep your friends close and your enemies… Well, you know the rest. As for Vanessa, her boss has ordered her to find him newer, dirtier dirt on Jax. What better way to worm her way into his good graces than by accepting his offer to write some fluff pieces about him?

Yet the more time the two enemies spend in one another’s company, the more they begin to see different sides to one another. Is Jax really the ruthless hookup artist he seems? Is Vanessa just another shady pap out for his blood? Or do they both have another, deeper self? One that only shines when they’re together…

My Personal Review: I received a copy of this book for a fair and honest review. I got this book to read and just love the character Vanessa. I am not sure what how I feel about Jax. I knew we all like our bad boys and he is super famous. I found I liked Vanessa for she is a strong-willed woman. I enjoyed the comic undertones of the story. I have never been to NYC but this book takes place in Manhattan. This book starts out with a bang you could say. When I first got this book I was not sure about the title I was not sure about it. I had to think a little on it. I did not go directly to dirty. I am a very open-minded reader and reviewer. I do understand that we put famous people up like they are super human and this book kind goes into the reality of that and how they are just people too. This is good read and I enjoyed reading it.

Summary of the Book:

How many half-truths could loyalty shoulder before it broke from the weight of deception on its back?

A sweeping LGBTQ and polyamorous retelling of “Swan Lake”!

Strange things can be said of the forest that spans the border of two kingdoms long at war. An evil sorcerer has made it his dominion, or an elegant enchantress has claimed it as her domain and grants wishes to those who chance upon her, or maybe the forest is guarded by an ancient and wrathful spirit.

Katya calls the forest home, living a life of magic and charms with her partner Ivan. But a threat looms over their forest, some darkness and danger that Ivan swears to protect her from. Katya finds herself caught up in a web of grudges and deception spanning generations, but most dangerous of all is the beautiful princess who stumbled into their woods. A princess who sets Katya’s heart fluttering with both desire and fear.

As forces rally to rescue the princess or go to war, Katya must take measure of her own powers and decide what she is willing to sacrifice. Will she retreat to the safety of what’s familiar or give up everything she knows to spread her wings and fly?

My Personal Review: I received a copy of this book for a fair and honest review. I actually got a physical copy of this book from the author. Thank you for that Dax. This was an amazing retelling of Swan Lake. I grew up with the classic fairytale. I love how this did not make any of the character sexual preference awkward or abnormal. It was the norm for them. The describe and world building had me drawn in and going on the adventure. There are a lot of different kind of relationships going on in this book. I have to say just how much the cover art and some inside the book just added to the experience that I had. It is definitely a book that I will read again.

Summary of the Book:

Oh, my gods! Sophis Pappas is still trying to adjust to becoming Amyara, demigoddess of love. Her new demigoddess powers have turned her world upside-down. Sophia has a demon faction trying to kill her. She also has an extra special enemy in the Fate Sister Clotho. But it’s not all doom and gloom. She has a new boyfriend, Connor McCallan, along with her BFF, Buffy Sommers, to keep her balanced.
School is out for summer.
Sophia and her friends are going on a vacation to the local beach. But this isn’t going to be the relaxing vacation Sophia hopes it will be. Instead she’s faced with her first god assignment from Zeus himself, more problems with Clotho and an annoying mermaid. What could possibly go wrong?
***This is a continuing story. It isn’t a stand-alone novel. This series should be read in order for complete enjoyment.

My Personal Review: I received a copy of this book for a fair and honest review. I enjoyed the first book and I love this one too. Sophia is still settling into her demi-goddess status. She has the people around her that care and she is going on a beach vacation. Only it was not all relaxing when she is giving her first mission from Zeus. She has other problems that comes her way but she is learning to deal with them and anything else that comes her way. Still leaning to master her new abilities. I read for the next one.

Summary of the Book:

Abomination. Curse. Murderer. All names hurled at eighteen-year-old Seraphina Dovetail. As the seventh-born daughter to a witch, she’s the cause of her mother losing her powers and, in turn, her life.

Abandoned as a child, Sera dreams of becoming an inspector and finding her family. To do that, she must be referred into the Advanced Studies Program at the Aetherium’s Witchling Academy. Her birth order, quick temper, and tendency to set things on fire, however, have left her an outcast with failing marks…and just what Professor Nikolai Barrington is looking for.

The tall, brooding, yet exceedingly handsome young professor makes her a proposition: become his assistant and he’ll give her the referral she needs. Sera is quickly thrust into a world where witches are being kidnapped, bodies are raised from the dead, and someone is burning seventhborns alive. As Sera and Barrington grow ever closer, she’ll discover that some secrets are best left buried…and fire isn’t the only thing that makes a witch burn.

My Personal Review: I received a copy of this book for a fair and honest review. I like the story behind the seventh born child. Even though it not acceptable to hunt and kill them anymore someone is still out there holding the order a child born against them. It was not their choice to be born then. Sera has been through hell even at her young age. She ends up going to Witchling Academy and that is where she gets to know Professor Barrington. She comes against someone who wants witches dead. It is was not what I expected and that is a good thing. Ready for the next one.
